Atinuke: Being together

Here Atinuke talks about disabled and non disabled students being together.

Transcript

Because we (disabled and non disabled students) see each other every day it’s not like a one off thing. There’s never really been cases of bullying someone with a disability in my school to be honest. People will make comments but it’s never really been a bullying thing, it’s just like oh, you get the odd comments but once they see you every day they start to see you and then you're just like the same. I think how everything is now is good because, if you make the person with a disability feel like they’re different to everyone else and point that out, like keep making that evident I think it’ll make it harder for the child because then people will start to, be like 'OK why do they get this sort of attention?' I think it’s good how my school do it now.
