But I remember the last night there, at the hospital, and I got so upset and the nurse took me into their cubby hole and I said, ‘I want to go home,’ and they told me that I was going home, instead of which I went straight to Chailey.

There was a terrible ban on parents getting involved. Presumably they felt they would interfere. So apart from eleven weeks in a year we were cut off from our family. I was very lonely. I cried all night. I felt dejected, I felt rejected. You know, I felt I couldn’t trust adults again, you know.
