One of the things that I think schools could help support, especially the inclusion agenda, is stop giving it to one person. Cos the responsibility of Inclusion is everybody’s and my bugbear, and I’m sorry, but my bugbear is by giving one teacher saying, either you’ve got inclusion specialist or SEN (Special Educational Needs) specialist or whatever and then anything to do with inclusion or SEN, oh go and see the SEN coordinator or the Inclusion co ordinator. It’s everyone’s responsibility. Until we move away from that it’s that one person’s responsibility, we won’t really get a culture change. because everyone’s saying 'No that’s not my speciality' and it’s not a speciality for me, Inclusion’s everyone’s business.
