Miro Griffiths: Homework


Miro was born in 1989 in Birkenhead in the Wirral. Miro went to his local mainstream schools for both primary and secondary education, then going on to attend university.

Here Miro talks about the influence his parents had on his school’s expectations.

Each different year, you know, we had a different teacher and they’d always say, ‘Look, should we drop Miro’s homework levels down because, you know, we obviously know he’s got to do physio and things like that and we don’t want him getting too tired or overwhelmed with the workload so, you know, should we give him less homework?’ And my mum and dad said, ‘No, you always give him the same amount as you would anybody else ‘cause, you know, we want him to be part of the mainstream and, you know, he needs to have expectations and people need to have expectations of him.
