Ajay Yadav: Inconsistent Support

Ajay was born in India in 1977. He attended a special school in East London from the age of five to sixteen and then went on to a mainstream sixth form college and on to university from there.

Here Ajay talks about the difficulty of having a different support worker each day.

The difficult part was the actual support that was given to me at the college, by the support workers. The only problem was that they wanted to give a different support worker to me every day when I was in class, which was causing me problems because, that meant I had to explain to the support worker what I needed to be done - every day a different lesson, so I had to tell them where my books were, where my pens and pencils were, how I needed to move and be adjusted in my wheelchair.
