What Doesn’t Help

Emma: Jack and the Beanstalk

Emma talks about her experiences of exclusion and inclusion.

Transcript

Sometimes in primary school I was a bit excluded, for instance, we once did a play about Jack and the Beanstalk, it was a nativity play I think and everyone else was saying things but I was the man in the moon, so obviously I was just shown on a big screen which obviously meant I wasn’t that included in speaking. But the difference was incredible when I left there and went to secondary school I was narrating a play for summer school in front of the whole school and parents, so that was really good, so that was sort of a new leaf really. And then, yeah in this environment I’ve been completely included. I’m going to London sightseeing tomorrow.
