I was quite confused because I didn’t ever come across any disabled adults, I only came across disabled children, so for a little while I did kind of wonder whether you became non-disabled because all the adults and all the people in kind of staff roles were all non-disabled. I remember very vividly as a small child complaining to my mother that I never saw any other people in wheelchairs and the only other people I ever saw in wheelchairs were the ones that I went to school with in the special school. I didn’t see anyone doing normal every day things, you didn’t see people in the shops or anything like that, so it was completely normal to me that people would find me extraordinary.
